What training styles do you use?

All three. Every training style lives somewhere on the four quadrants of operant conditioning, and each one has a job.

Force free training uses no aversives. It works through two quadrants: giving a reward, and removing food, fun, or freedom. Force free is how we build drive and charge our markers.

Traditional training, also called escape and avoidance training, focuses on aversives. The dog learns to escape light pressure, then to avoid it entirely. It uses the other two quadrants: releasing pressure and applying a correction. Traditional lessons work fast and last. See What is escape and avoidance training?

Balanced training blends force free and Traditional.

I teach you all three, and we choose the mix that fits your dog and your goals. Whatever you prefer, knowing all four corners means you understand why your dog does what they do.
