Capstone
A custom goal we design together, recorded as a training record of where you and your dog are today.
A capstone is whatever you and I decide your dog should show off. It might wrap up a full Fundamentals build, or be a single goal you care about. We design it together at the level your dog is ready for: as stimulating an environment and as fast and precise as they can handle.
Training records over certifications
I’m not planning to certify for the AKC Canine Good Citizen or IGP BH. I believe in training records over certifications. A certification proves a fixed standard; the Canine Good Citizen is a good one, but it doesn’t meet your dog where they are and may be too hard or too easy right now. A training record shows exactly where you and your dog are.
What we record
We make a video, and I write notes on what’s going well and what to improve. You keep the video for your own records, or I host it on the site. See Training Records for examples.
